B-Tek Computer Repair and Virus Removal | Tips
Here are some suggestions for helping your computer to run better.
Use a GOOD antivirus program! Most people use McAfee or Norton (Symantec) because that is what was on their PC when they bought it. Problem is, since so many people use one of those its easy for a hacker to target and affect many computers.
I recommend the following:
NOD32, Comodo and F-Secure. Comodo offers a free one with a built in firewall.
All 3 are great programs and do their job extremely well. They also come as a security suite and offer online virus scanning. Should you not be able to access these sites then you very well may be infected and should call me.
Do not download files from unknown websites. Stay away from file sharing, P2P and torrent sites. You never now what your getting till it's too late from these sites.
Stay off the porn sites! You laugh but simply put, if you enter a dirty house you're going to get dirty. A majority of PC infections come from porn websites. They are as unclean as the hookers on the street. If you absolutely must then please give us a call when you're ready to have those bugs removed from your PC, we love repeat business. The bugs you personally aquire we are not qualified to remove nor would we want to.
My number one recommendation for a highly efficient virus free computer is Linux. What is Linux you ask? It is a FREE Operating system that is increadibly stable and secure. Linux has come a long way in the last few years and I feel is well worth the transition. My only complaint is that it is not much for gaming. Most games are written speciffically for Windows so it's not Linux's fault but Microsofts for having a monopoly on the market.
Check out one of my favorite distributions of Linux over @ www.ubuntu.com And remember, its free as are all the other countless thousands of programs and applications available for Linux.
